DALLAS NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY FAQs

The ideal time for a posed newborn photography session is within the first 7–16 days after birth. During this period, babies are often sleepier, naturally curled, and more comfortable with gentle newborn posing.

After the first few weeks, babies generally become more alert and may prefer wrapped or simpler poses. Every newborn develops differently, and I always adjust each session around your baby's comfort and safety.

I recommend reserving your newborn photoshoot during pregnancy, ideally in the second or third trimester. Because I accept a limited number of newborn sessions each month, advance booking helps secure availability around your estimated due date.

A $35 retainer and signed agreement are required to reserve your session. Once your baby arrives, please contact me so we can finalize the photography date based on your baby's arrival and your family's availability.

Although I recommend booking during pregnancy, I occasionally have last-minute availability for newborn photography in Dallas and the surrounding DFW area.

For older newborns, I generally recommend a wrapped mini newborn session. This approach is often more suitable for babies who are increasingly alert or less comfortable with traditional newborn poses, including babies who have spent time in the NICU.

My private newborn photography studio is located in Rowlett, Texas, conveniently serving families throughout Dallas, Rockwall, Garland, Richardson, Plano, Frisco, Wylie, and surrounding Dallas–Fort Worth communities.

The studio is designed for posed newborn photography, with a curated selection of newborn wraps, backdrops, outfits, and photography props available for your session.

You'll receive the studio address and arrival instructions before your scheduled appointment.

My full newborn photography collection includes a 3–5 hour studio session with approximately 7–8 styled setups and 25–30 professionally edited, high-resolution images. Parent and sibling photographs are included, along with posed, wrapped, and close-up newborn details.

My mini newborn session is a shorter, baby-only experience featuring 3–4 styled setups, with your newborn remaining wrapped throughout the session. This collection includes approximately 10–12 edited digital images. Parent and sibling photographs are not included.

In-home lifestyle newborn photography is available for families who prefer a natural, relaxed experience in their own home. Unlike posed studio sessions, lifestyle newborn photography focuses on natural interactions, family connections, and simple compositions without elaborate props or traditional newborn posing.

These sessions typically last 1.5–2 hours and include approximately 25–30 professionally edited, high-resolution digital images with a print release. Parent and sibling photographs are included.

In-home newborn sessions may be scheduled during your baby's first four weeks. Travel fees may apply depending on your location within the Dallas–Fort Worth area. Please Contact Me About Lifestyle Newborn Photography for current pricing and availability.

Professional makeup and designer gowns are not included in standard newborn photography collections. However, you may request a Fine Art Mommy & Me newborn session upgrade for an additional fee.

This optional add-on includes access to 1–2 couture designer gowns, a styled backdrop, fine art editing, and approximately 3–5 additional high-resolution images. The Mommy & Me portion takes place on the same day as your newborn session.

For the comfort and safety of all clients, pets are not permitted inside my private newborn photography studio in Rowlett. If you'd like to include your family pet, an in-home lifestyle newborn session may be a better option, subject to discussion before booking.

Full studio newborn collections include immediate family photographs with parents and siblings. Extended family members may be accommodated for an additional fee with advance approval.

Mini newborn sessions are reserved exclusively for the baby and do not include family photographs.

Most newborn photography props, wraps, and baby outfits are provided at my Rowlett studio. I recommend bringing your baby's usual feeding supplies, extra diapers, wipes, a pacifier if your baby uses one, and an additional outfit for unexpected changes.

For full newborn sessions that include family photographs, parents and siblings should arrive dressed and ready for their portraits. Neutral, coordinated clothing works beautifully with my clean studio aesthetic.

You'll receive a detailed newborn session preparation guide after booking, so you'll know what to expect before your appointment.

After booking your studio newborn photography session, you'll receive a styling questionnaire where you can share your preferred colors, props, and overall aesthetic.

My private Rowlett newborn photography studio offers a carefully selected collection of wraps, outfits, accessories, and props in soft, neutral tones. You're also welcome to share inspiration photographs or specific styling preferences.

I'll coordinate the setups to create a cohesive gallery while keeping your baby's comfort and safety the priority.

Newborn safety is a priority throughout every studio photography session. I've been photographing newborns since 2013 and use a gentle, baby-led approach that respects each baby's natural positioning, comfort, and individual needs.

I never force a baby into a pose or continue a setup when a baby shows signs of discomfort. Sessions include breaks for feeding, soothing, and diaper changes as needed.

My goal is to create a carefully styled newborn gallery while keeping your baby's well-being at the center of the entire experience.

Newborn sessions are completely baby-led, so there's no expectation for your baby to sleep throughout the entire photoshoot. I allow time for feeding, diaper changes, comforting, and settling whenever needed.

With experience photographing newborns since 2013, I've learned to recognize when a baby needs a break or a different approach. If your baby prefers to remain awake, I'll adjust the posing and setups based on their comfort.

My priority is creating beautiful newborn photographs while maintaining a calm, comfortable experience for your baby and family.

Your fully edited newborn photography gallery will be delivered within approximately four weeks from your session date. All final photographs are carefully selected and individually edited, with attention to skin tones, color, lighting, and overall presentation.

There is no proofing or image selection process for newborn sessions. I personally select the strongest images to create a polished, cohesive gallery.

If you need a few photographs sooner, expedited editing for select images may be available upon request.

Once your newborn photography gallery is delivered, you'll have access to a professional online print shop where you can order photographic prints, canvases, and albums directly from your gallery.

Products are produced through a professional photography lab and shipped directly to your home. Standard 4×6 prints begin at $8.99, with additional print sizes and wall art options available.
